Jamie (ex-Unilever) and Magid (ex-P&G) found themselves as rivals with a lot in common - working for competitors on the frontline of digital innovation meant they faced the same challenges, from viewability and brand safety, to cross-media measurement and online harms.

While at Facebook, Elliot’s brand and retail clients were concerned about the same things. They could all see that data compliance in digital media was one of the biggest challenges the media industry would ever face. So they quit their jobs and founded Compliant.

Together, they developed a global standard for data compliance in digital media - one that’s built with a privacy-safe future in mind, while preserving the economic foundations that underwrite the free Internet.

And the tools brands, agencies, publishers and ad tech companies rely on most to navigate these headwinds are the tools Jamie, Magid and Elliot envisioned: the Compliance Indexes give the industry the tools it needs to maintain transparency and accountability without risking consumer trust or media effectiveness.

Data compliance will be one of the most important media standards over the coming decade.

Jamie joined Unilever as a marketing lawyer in 2007 after 6 years acting for London’s top creative agencies. Internationally recognised as a privacy expert and a published authority on ethics in data and AI, Jamie likes to operate at the cutting edge of digital innovation.

As one of the industry’s most vocal advocates for responsible media, founding Compliant was a natural move. The automation of data compliance will help brands, agencies and publishers unleash the full potential of digital innovation and help build a healthier internet for all.

Jamie was a founding member of Meta's Global and EMEA Policy Councils, the co-chair of the World Federation of Advertisers Digital Governance Exchange and the chair of ISBA's Data & Ethics Steering Committee.

With over 20 years of digital media experience with pioneering companies like Facebook, Yahoo, Live Nation and Walmart, combined with hands-on experience with early stage ad tech companies, Elliot understands the challenges that brands face in becoming and remaining compliant in today’s digital media ecosystem.

An established leader in digital media and data compliance technology, co-founding Compliant is Elliot’s way to help companies stay match-fit in a new era of privacy, consent and identity.

Magid Souhami

With a wealth of experience picked up over the past 15 years at Procter & Gamble and General Mills, Magid has led teams responsible for Data & Analytics, Media Procurement, Advertising Production, Agency Sourcing and Management, e-Commerce and Corporate Services.

While Magid is first and foremost an engineer, he has an MBA from École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and qualifications in the Media & Arts from New York University.

His belief in data privacy as a human right and his determination to safeguard ‘digital freedom’ for future generations, inspired him to co-found Compliant and develop the technology at its core.
